Cottage Holidays Central France

Chez Jabier

Located in the very centre of France yet only 90 minutes from Limoges International airport, on the boundaries of the Cher, Indre, Creuse (Limousin) and Allier Departments, you will find 'Chez Jabier' surrounded by Chateaus, Medieval towns, Ancient sites and many warm and friendly villages.

As yet, this is a relatively undiscovered part of France. Perfect for escaping the hustle and bustle of daily life. With Sunflower fields around every corner and sleepy villages along every lane. The cottage is set in over an acre of land with the Grand Chateau a short stroll along the lane, and local towns offering modern amenities - banks, shops, restaurants, leisure centre etc - 10 mins in either direction.

There are plenty of things to do in the area whether it be swimming at the local lakes complete with life guards, beaches, pedalos, canoeing and picnic areas, horse and llama riding or visiting the modern leisure centre in town with water slides, children's pools and outdoor pools.  Walking and cycling are also very popular locally and the area has many well mapped walking trails.

Golfing is available at the nearby 4 star hotel/golf course.  Access to the golf course with all the facilities offered by a 4 star hotel is within a 10 minute drive. The green fees are incredibly low for the quality of the course, and with an idilyic setting a brilliant setting for a round of golf.

The cottage offers views across the valley to the rolling hills and forests surrounding area, with a vast amount of Flora and Fauna in the immediate area and many birds, including birds of prey, deer and wild boar.

One of the most popular leisure activities at Chez Jabier is relaxing by the pool, enjoying a bottle of locally produced wine and watching the sun set across the valley.

Customer Reviews:

Stuart, Stephane, Olly and Oakley : We first came to Chez Jabier in 2012 and quickly realised that this was the place for us.  It's been a long held dream of ours to have our own little piece of heaven in France but, until that holiday in 2012, we had not been quite sure where we wanted to be.  The warm welcome from all in this little hamlet, hosts and neighbours alike, quickly made up our minds for us, to the extent that this year we bought our own house around the corner. Thank you all for the fun, laughter, late nights, meals, wine & general shenanigans - all of which have given us a huge amount of cherished memories. Your generosity and kindess has been quite overwhelming and we hope the people who come to stay here appreciate the lenghts you go to, in order to ensure a happy holiday is had by all.

Wendy and Dave : Thank you very much for sharing your home with us.  We have had a lovely relaxing time. You both made us most welcome and your kindness has been outstanding.  This is an ideal place for a family with young children.  A fantastic swimming pool and lots of space for Pepper, our Springer Spaniel.

Carol and Colin Pederson : Our stay at Chez Jabier has been everything we hoped for and then some more! We have love the accommodation and the flexibility to come and go as we please to tour this beautiful region of France.  We feel very special to have been your first guests and have been overwhelmed by your kindness and friendship, which we will remember always.

Jean and Bob Mulligan: Chez Jabier is delightfully placed for convenient access to the surrounding towns and villages.  We didn't truly appreciate this from our map until we had actually visited many of the local sites and attractions.  Above all we have to say Boussac is the most French of French towns and it is just as we expected with cafes, chateaux and shops, all of which is nestled amongst rolling hills.  The cottage itself is a perfect size for us and has all the amenities one needs for time in the country.  Your friendly and warm welcome were much appreciated as was your enthusiasm to ensure we had a memorable time at Chez Jabier.

Cindy and Ajolt: Thank you for this amazing week.  As we said during the barbeque, you are wonderful people who are kind, thoughtful, hard-working, funny, welcoming, caring and so on!  Already we are planning next year's visit with friends.  With your playground, kid's den and swimming pool this place was also heaven for our little girl who did not understand why we had to go.

Scott, Colette and family: What a lovely family you are!  It was lovely meeting and spending time with you all.  Such a warm welcome and truly genuine people we could never have expected.  Thank you for making our holiday even more enjoyable.
